Strategic relationship between German and Vietnam

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Prime Minister Angela Merkel today signed the Hanoi Declaration, agreed to elevate bilateral relations to strategic partnership. In five key areas of cooperation with political strategic trade and investment.
Merkel arrived in Vietnam in the first leg of Asian tour. After the official welcoming ceremony at the Presidential Palace, Merkel held talks with Prime Minister of Vietnam in the areas of joint cooperation.

The content of the Hanoi Declaration by the two sides negotiated in the past year, with eight different rounds of talks, aimed at targeting the development of mutual benefit.
Strategic Action Plan of the five specific areas of cooperation mentioned above includes a number of noteworthy as the German house project in Ho Chi Minh City, construction of two subway lines in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam project house in Berlin, to continue dialogue Vietnam - Germany on the rule of law, the waste water treatment programs and economic waste in Vietnam, Vietnamese university development - Germany into a leading research institutions, higher vocational school opened in Vietnam.
